Google Wave wird eingestellt

Gerade eben auf dem Google Blog gelesen: Google Wave wird nicht mehr weiterentwickelt.

Bis Jahresende wird die Seite noch weitergepflegt, danach eventuell eingestellt.
Die Technologien hinter Wave werden in anderen Produkten weiterentwickelt.

Als Grund wird die mangelnde User Adoption genannt.

Schade, sehr schade. Nicht nur, weil dadurch unser Buchprojekt zu Google Wave de facto gestorben ist, sondern weil ich Wave wirklich gern genutzt habe. Wave hat(te) enormes Potential für richtig gute Killerapplikationen.

Ich bin mal gespannt, ob sich aus den Dingen die Google dazu open source gesetzt hat etwas neues, gleichwertiges, besseres entwickelt.
